hey everyone.
i feel like i need to explain why i've been gone. both maat and twiil know, and have been supportive and what not.
for the past three weeks, maybe a month or so, i've been hospitalized with a blood infection called sepsis. sepsis is a condition in which your body is fighting a severe infection. if you become "septic," you will likely be in a state of low blood pressure termed "shock." this condition can develop either as a result of your body's own defense system or from toxic substances made by the infecting agent (such as a bacteria, virus, or fungus).
i was devastated when we went into the emergency room and they told me that. after spending at least a month in the hospital, i'm getting better and at home. luckily, i was able to use my computer to hook into the hospital network so it didn't affect the machines.
normally infants or elderly people get sepsis, but it can also happen to someone with a bad immune system. this can be due to HIV, cancer, or AIDS. no worries, i have none of those. but i do have an underdeveloped immune system, because of the fact that i was born three and a half months premature with a lung infection. since then i've been getting pneumonia almost yearly, though it's gotten to the point where i don't have to be hospitalized, and then last year when i ruptured my appendix. apparently those are key factors in weakening my immune system.
no worries, i'm home and on the mend. the doctors say i won't die and in a few weeks be almost back to normal.
i'll try to be on here more, and i have nothing else to do, so i think i'll forget about the trials and apply again in a few weeks, and just hang out until then. thanks again.
