any kind of tutorial for GIMP two-point-whatever would be killer amazing. i just downloaded it because i haven't had the time or money to go out and buy a good program. i used it a couple years ago, but all my skills have disappeared.

Hmmm I believe we have some GIMP users here. It would be amazing if any of those people could give Shannon some help. I'd be more then happy to but I don't have GIMP, nor have I ever used it.
I do think there is a site out there with tons of GIMP tutorials for photo manipulations...I'll look for it and link it to you when I have found it!

I GOT GIMP -random squee-
What kind of tutorial did you have in mind? I can make one for simple effects, blurring, text, basic features, and even how to add rain.

It depends upon what kind of images you are saving your files as. .PNG files are enormous, no matter what you do with them. .JPG and .JPEG, which are the same file types, usually are the most compressed files. (compressed = smaller file size) Many things can affect a file's size. Amount of pictures used, filters, layers, if you merge layers, etc...One of the things I do, is flatten the image before I save it. Flattening an image compresses it, making it smaller in size.
