Your Style: I don't really know what my style is... Realism with a hint of Surrealism I suppose... A lot of my work is based off concepts rather then any one thing.

colorizing: what falls under colorization? is it purely changing the color of the horse? because and both employ some form of colorization...

Answer:
Yes, as long as they are licensed under creative commons. Proper etiquette includes notifying the owner of the stock about the usage, and following rules that they may have.

Answer:
No, only those listed under resources and stock images >> stock images are allowed. once again, you must always follow the stock providers rules.

Colorazation can be changing the colour of a horse, yeah. At least, that's the way I look at it. xD
(I have to pack for NH soon, so I'm too lazy to do the in-depth critique I usually do, so I'm just gonna skim over some stuff if you don't mind)

Cutting looks good, nice and clean, and smudging looks good, too.
In "Edge of the World" the markings are executed nicely, as is the reflection(subtle, but nice) and the colours, but the tooth seems a bit, too white and it distracts from the horse's face a titch.
The mask in "The Phantom of the Opera" looks great, good job with the structure of the horse's face underneath! I would never have been able to do that correctly. I'd probably desaturate the rose a lil bit, but that could be just me.
The fires in "Forest Fire" look great, but if I could suggest some orange-y reflections on the horse?
"Under The Sea", mm, love the texture. Definitely makes it look like it's completely underwater.
In "Jump In v2" I'd think the tail would fly back a bit more, being that he's going so fast, as would the mane. Also, I'd distance him from the cliff a little bit more, but that's just me. Lol.
The colours in both "Edge of the World" and "Jump In v2" look very nicely done. (=
