what are good prizes?

We've been told you guys would like some contests, and we've decided to go ahead and make monthly contests, but what would you guys like to have for Prizes?

We are an image studio, so images for prizes aren't really all that special. They can be nice, but you know, you don't have to win a contest to get an image.

Images can be offered for prizes but we’d like for this to be only a last resort.

What else would you guys like for prizes? Anything and all we’d like to hear…^^

And if anyone can contribute, or offer anything for a prize, please let us know as well!

We’d be oh so grateful for example if someone could donate a feature for the winner in their DeviantART journal.

Depending on how well contests go and how much money your admins have DeviantART subscriptions may become an option later.

We’re open for any all and any ideas for prizes so, TELL TELL TELL. =D

PRIZE IDEAS

- DeviantART Journal Features. [ we will need people who are subscribed to donate these... ]
- DeviantART Subscriptions. [ as I said this will depend on your admins money situation and how well contests go. ]
- Images. [ made by Zodiac. Anyone else willing to offer their time to make images for prizes please let me know. ]
- Skins / Layout Designs. [ made by Zodiac. Again anyone else who can skin and is willing to offer their time to make one for a prize let us know. ]
- Stock. [ provided by whoever can supply exclusive stock to the winners expectations, I suppose. ]
- Character Ref Sheet. [ supplied by whoever can do it. ]
- Drawings. [ sense we no longer have a drawing request board we could offer these as a prize. Zodiac, TheZombie, and anyone else who can draw nice may do this. ]
- Certificates. [ once someone wins a contest they can display a certificate in their signature that could say ‘dignified winner of blah blah blah contest’, or something like that. ]
- Manipulation Lessons. [ Zodiac, or someone who is teacher quality and would like to help can teach the winner for a month on how to better their photo manipulation. ]

Hum, I could probably give a journal feature....I don't have many watchers, BUT! Almost all of my friends always look at the things I feature because we have no lives. xD

I'm sure no one could deny a journal feature, or an image/skin made by you. Those seem like good prizes imo.

xD I can do the features and images, and occasionally skins [they require lots of time so it depends]

um... other ideas... hmm... stock? xD I dunno. Maybe a ref for a character, or, like, a really friggin' awesome character designed and ready to go. Which some may like and some may not >.> I wouldn't know which - I dun RP.

Not that I wouldn't feature something on DA in my journal if it's a great piece of work (and it should be to win), but I don't think it should be given away as a prize per se... I dunno, something doesn't feel particularly right about it. Maybe it's just me. Journals, to me, should feature what the journaler feels a connection to or something, and in a way, giving it away as a prize seems a little bit materialistic. - end 2 cents -

But I do think that maybe we should have a reward system based around the image request boards, too. I wouldn't mind making images and skins, but I also think that maybe the admins can award "certificates" to the winners so that they can (a) post in a request board even if it is closed and/or (b) make their request a "priority" to whoever claimed it? For example, if a personalizer has two images that they are working on, the winner of some contest can request that the personalizer work on their image first? Does that make sense?

I haves ideas that rollz around mah head and then they come out all jumbled up. T_T

Hmm.. stock, yeah stock may be a good idea...
I could probably give away some unrestricted stock. I always have tons on my computer. WAY too many to put on my stock account.
I gave a ton away as holiday gifts, but I still have an ungodly amount. xD

To Zero: That was a really nice idea, but when we have requests closed they are closed for a reason so if we ever do such a thing we would probably need to go with plan B over A. xD That is also in the case that the person who won the contest even has an image that needs done. :3

Lul and here is another idea from me.

Drawings? Sense we no longer have a drawing request board, we could offer these as a prize. I know Thezombie and me can draw nicely and I'm sure we have more people here who can draw some nice stuff as well.

Teaching? We've also dissolved the academies. Which means....IT will no longer be accepting students and well, I'd be willing to be a teacher for a month, or so for a winner of a contest that is, if they wish to learn from me, or someone else who would like to teach someone and is teacher quality.

well there are always other forms of art that can be given away as prizes.
Many of us, including me, write open poetry so perhaps we could do some of that??

I don't mind offering a manip. That is if my manips are even worth being a prize. xD The winner shouldn't really need my lousy skills anyway. ;P As much as I'll like to feature, my sub ended waaaaaaay long ago and I don't even use my journal anymore. x] So yeah, I'll offer a manip made by me as a prize if you guys want to. =] If not, I won't die from the rejection. xD

well, i don't if you'd want my help, but i can try helping with drawings. i'm thinking my scanner will work for now.

well, ipoetry could work if that's what people like. Or maybe like, a detailed character description they could use or something? I don't know, like a reference sheet but in writing. Not to detailed or things huge like history, but just a basic personality or appearance or something so it wouldn't be the huge dreaded prize to make.
