This Lessons Is For: Dessi, Larka, & Annakitten.
Must Be Completed By: October 1st.
I figured starting from the very basics because of the group of students I have who are ready and willing to learn would be best.
Below I have a tutorial on cutting that I've already made and I would like for you guys to follow it by cutting out a horse of your choice. Then post it here once you've cut it out on a plain colored background that contrasts with the horse.

Annakitten: You really did a goob job with the pen tool! Just up along the horse's back and neck you can still see some of the background. So that's when you need to zoom in, get the eraser [ if you have a steady hand. ] and erase it all away. And if you don't have a steady hand go back in with the pentool and try to take the rest of that out. =]
Larka: Did you at least try to use the pen tool? With practice it really really is worth it. Believe me. And what method did you use? Your cutting looks clean but there seems to be a small glow around the horse, and in the cutting stages we don't want to have that glow. After smudging and putting it on an image the glow can be worked with but with cutting samples we need them be crisp. x] Oh and I'm not going to get too mad but isn't that image copyrighted? D: |
