The only thing I could suggest is:
1.) Was the horse stock initially blurry like that? Or did it just end up that way after you manipulated the image? Did you plan to have it that way? In my opinion I would have made sure the horse was crisp and not as pixley. =]
2.) Do you know how to duplicate layers and do soft light, overlay, and yadda yadda? I'd copy the whole image, and open a new file the exact dimensions of this one, paste it onto it, then duplicate it, and set the top layer on a soft light. It'd make the colors contrast lots more and make it stand out. ^^
I do love the border on the image! It's nice, and the way the image is tilted! You've got some great creativity in your head. ;3

Asy's Crit -
I love this image. The horse does look a bit too blurry, I would suggest not blurring it as much? I love the horse's eye color, it's very bold and bright and adds a lot of flair to this image.
The only other thing, is the weird angle of this picture. Other than that, awesome picture!
I know what you mean. It's really blury and grainy. Ugh. The horse was great stock! Large and clear. I have just come to the conclusion that corel is not that great at all. I got a small little trial of photoshop and of course it was amazing. I didn't quite understand it but the image came out crisp and had clean lines and everything. Corel? No. it's also horrible for smudging.
Yeah I know how to do all that stuff, but I don't use it often. Only for some effects. I'll try that sometime, I hope. Busy bee....
-Asylum- I actualy never blur the horse. It just turns out that way as I ranted above XD And thank you. Yeah, it was the background, I thought it was unique so I used it.
I have noticed that Corel does not always save images very clear, sometimes random areas are grainy and things but I've never seen it blur something to that extent :/ I disagree that Corel is horrible for smudging...it took me a while to get the hang of it. The thing with the smudging is you really have to play around with the settings to get things right, and you have to tweak it a bit according to the image. But I definitely understand how it can be frustrating hon! *hugs*
I would definitely try playing around with layer options. I actually do this pretty much every time I make an image! I usually duplicate the horse (or background, or both) layer(s) and then set the duplicated layer on one of the layer settings (from the drop-down menu where it says "normal"). The main ones I use are multiply, overlay and sometimes screen. I may also use dodge, burn, etc. Usually the setting makes the image too light/dark/saturated/etc, so I decrease the opacity of the top layer until it really blends into the background. It really works wonders on an image!
