Okay so I just downloaded GIMP 2.6 and this is the first photo I've done... It's not the best but It's one that I'm pretty proud of for my first time using GIMP =D
-- The background colour is the same as the website I'll be using it on.

It's rather plain but if its like ahorse profile or something, thats fine.
You cutting seems to get too skinny on the front left leg, back left leg and the right side.
Using the sharp tool and blur tool, if gimp has it, will help even out the weird anomalies of focus where you cute.
The left ear coloring is blurry and takes away detail, copy the horses ear (non colored/edited) onto a new layer and play with the layer settings until the detail or fur is attained.
The star or mark, is well done. Bravo.
Again take the sharpen tool onto the hair on the main where you smudged.
