I am taking an old manip and recreating it. But, before I start to recreate it, I need input on what "went wrong" or "was off" in the original.

Maybe add a reflection? Unless, of course, the reflection was left out on purpose? Which would make sense, I just don't know the story behind the image. Lol.
And maybe try a different style of splashes, although that kinda fits under 'the way the hooves blend with the water'.
Also, the lightning bolts seem a tad random to me, maybe work on how they blend into the clouds?
