Okay so, this was a request I did at In The Negative recently, and because stock pictures of silver dapples are so rare, I had to recolor the horse and give it dapples.
Here's the manipulation. Oh, and here's the original horse stock (cut and smudged).
First I desaturated the horse until it had a decent-looking chocolate silver dapple coat. Then I fiddled around with brushes and eventually found one that looked alright to be considered dapples, and painted 'em on. I then adjusted the curves on both the horse and the background until it looked well-blended.
Any critiques, comments, advice you guys have are welcome (: I'm eager to learn the proper how-to's and how-not-to's of recoloring horses and of giving them markings.
